United Way of Passaic County: Reading Buddies

The Reading Buddies Program has been an invaluable and warmly welcomed support for students at Full Service Community School #15. Through this program, volunteer Reading Buddies provide structured literacy support to Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade students, four times per week from October through June.

Early literacy is the foundation of academic success, yet many young students struggle to develop essential reading skills. The Reading Buddies Program directly addresses this challenge by providing personalized reading support that strengthens comprehension, fluency, and confidence.

What makes this program particularly impactful is its community-driven approach. Dedicated volunteers work closely with students, fostering positive relationships and a love for reading in a way that extends beyond the classroom. These consistent, encouraging interactions create a safe and supportive learning environment, empowering students to take risks and build their literacy skills with confidence.

FAMILY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!

Parents and Guardians,
Your time and involvement matter! Research shows that when families volunteer in schools, students achieve more, attendance improves, and children feel a stronger sense of belonging. By sharing your talents and time, you not only strengthen our school community but also model the importance of education and service for your child. Join us in making FSCS#15 a thriving place for every student to learn and grow!
