Our School

Principal’s Message

Dear FSCS#15 Parent/Guardian,

Welcome back to the 2025-2026 School Year and a special welcome to all of the NEW families joining FSCS#15 for the first time. I am honored to open the doors of our school and see our children’s beautiful smiles and eagerness to learn new things in the classroom.  And I am especially excited to join forces with all the parents/guardians to plan and create experiences for all our children.

I want to express the importance of working together to provide our children with the best educational experiences. We need to keep the lines of communication open. One easy form of communication is through the Parent Portal. I strongly recommend that all parents/guardians download the phone app and get connected. Another way to stay connected is through the Messenger platform. The district and the school will send out important messages to parents/guardians via the phone number provided to the school. Hence, keeping the school informed of phone number changes is critical in keeping abreast of everything that occurs at the school and district. You can also email regarding any concerns, doubts, or suggestions. The email list can be located on our school’s website. If you prefer to meet in person, you can also do so by calling the main office and setting up an appointment to see the person you desire to speak to. Please make sure to take advantage of all communication avenues we offer.

  • To start, the school website is full of great information and I urge you to check the website often for news and updates (ps15.paterson.k12.nj.us ).
  • Sign up for the Parent Portal. This is a live student data platform where you can see assignments and student grades.
  • Join the Parent Teacher Organization and work side by side with the school to offer our children the best learning experiences.

I firmly believe that the parents are their child’s first and most important teacher. Parents play an important vital role in the education of their children. I happily welcome all parents to take an active role in the education of their children and be active participants in our school life. Get to know the staff, especially your child’s teachers, and assist where you can so we can work together in the interest of everyone. I am eager to work with our parent community in supporting our students’ educational journey.

The district has developed a school uniform policy to help create a healthy and safe school environment for all students.  By wearing the school uniform, all students will have a sense of equality. No child or parent has to worry about the brand of clothing they must purchase or whether they can afford to purchase the newest trends. Research shows how wearing a uniform helps students feel secure about the way they look because they do not have the pressure to conform to society in terms of their peers and will be able to put their energies into learning and studying. Above all, wearing the school uniform generates a sense of belonging, pride and loyalty towards the school and community.

Student Attendance plays a critical role in their learning; hence, I am imploring you to please bring your child to school every day. If your child is sick, bring him/her to school because we have a clinic where the doctor can treat your child. If you do not want to use the services rendered at the clinic, make the appointment after 1pm. By doing so, your child will receive credit for their attendance, and they will not miss out on learning.

I am extending a heartfelt welcome to you and asking that you join forces with the school community to create the best learning environment for your child (our children). We can work side by side if you join the PTO, become a classroom parent representative, and or attend our monthly parent workshops. We have so much to offer to you and the children. Our school is fully equipped with a Clinic that will provide medical services, if you are registered. I advise you to register your child in the clinic and take full advantage of all services rendered.

Please stay connected and let’s make the 2025-2026 school year AMAZING!

Sincerely,

Ramona Garcia, Principal
